PICA Group
I was the final guest speaker for The PICA Group’s conference on the Gold Coast this month. It was an opportunity share my thoughts and insights on inclusiveness in the workplace and overcoming adversity.
The PICA Group have been a proud sponsor of mine from the beginning of my paratriathlon journey which led to winning Australia’s first gold medal in paratriathlon at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
The 200 plus attendees at the conference, sponsored by Macquarie Group, heard my own personal experience of adapting and modifying both my work and personal life and adjusting to gradual hearing and eye sight loss through Usher's Syndrome.
“I always enjoy sharing the message of diversity and inclusiveness. We can only be enriched in our personal and working life when we truly allow ourselves to be open to the full human experience. It was really an opportunity for those in the property and investment sectors to consider within their own business how they embrace and adapt to change as well as integrate people with a disability in the workplace.”
