As part of Victorian Government’s $1.5 million Access for All Abilities program with Victoria University (VU) in collaboration, I deliver a Community of Practice project focused on assisting the development of state sport and active recreation organisations.
I am excited to be one of the Facilitators chosen to deliver this program to QLD commencing from May 2023 and to be run over 12 months. Alongside Mel Tanner, we will be facilitating workshops in Brisbane. Mel and I will bring our own personal and professional experiences to educate on how best to embed inclusive practices and programs to attract and retain people with disability as players and leader.
The Building Inclusive Sport Club's program will start with our first session on Friday 12 May at Sporting Wheelies QLD office in Albion, and then Friday 19 May at the Exercise Sport Science Australia office in Hamilton.
This program aims to support community sport organisations to embed sustainable inclusive practices and programs to better support people with disabilities to access sport.
